Motion Health Bulimba is our newest home, designed to bring the same high standard of care into one of Brisbane’s most vibrant suburbs. Just minutes from Oxford Street, it’s a space where locals can drop in, feel supported, and know they’re in good hands.

Here, we welcome everyone — from busy parents and office workers, to NDIS participants, weekend warriors, and competitive athletes. Each person starts with a thorough assessment so we can truly understand what’s going on, then we shape a plan around your lifestyle and goals. No cookie-cutters, just care that fits you.

Our allied-health team includes physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and dietitians with experience in both community health and professional sport. You might come to us after surgery, with a sports injury, or simply looking to move better day to day. Whatever the reason, we’ll meet you where you are and guide you forward.

Annaliese van Schouwen

Physiotherapist

Annaliese is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with experience working across Australia and the UK. She graduated and began her career in Brisbane before spending the past three years working in a busy musculoskeletal clinic in Notting Hill, London. During her time overseas, Annaliese worked with a wide range of clients including elite athletes and individuals managing back pain, sporting injuries, and ongoing musculoskeletal conditions. Annaliese is certified level 2 APA Pelvic and Women’s Health accredited. She can assist women with issues involving bladder, bowel, pelvic pain, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause, exercise and sport. She has completed additional training in reformer and mat pilates and incorporates this into treatment where appropriate. She has a strong clinical interest in shoulder, ankle, neck, and back conditions, as well as running related injuries. Annaliese can also administer shockwave therapy when indicated to facilitate the recovery process. Outside the clinic, Annaliese enjoys travel, running and staying active.

James Baker

Physiotherapist

James is a physiotherapist who is passionate about helping people move better, recover stronger, and get back to performing at their best, whether that’s in sport, work, or everyday life. His primary interests include musculoskeletal rehab, athletic performance and injury prevention, and post operative recovery. He brings an extension background in sport, with years of experience in athletics and cross-country coaching at elite female private schools, where he was mentored by some of Australia’s leading coaches. He has also worked as a sports trainer for football and netball teams, gaining valuable experience in injury prevention, load management, return-to-sport planning, and working within multidisciplinary sporting environments, all of which strongly inform his physiotherapy practice. With a background in competitive athletics, James has a deep appreciation for the demands of training, competition, and recovery. Outside the clinic, he enjoys running, watching premier league football, and four-wheel driving, reflecting his active lifestyle and passion for movement.

Mitchell founded Motion Health in 2023 with the vision of redefining what it means to live and move well for life. Built around the concept of longevity, Motion Health was created to bring together a passionate team focused on problem-solving sustainable health solutions that empower people to do what they love for life. Across the past nine years of clinical practice since graduating from his Master of Physiotherapy, Mitchell has combined his experience in clinical care, business ownership, and elite sport including his work with the A-League men’s Brisbane Roar to develop a holistic and forward-thinking approach to health. Mitchell believes true health is built on longevity. His philosophy focuses on empowering people to move with purpose, build resilience, and create sustainable systems that support lifelong wellbeing. He works closely with every individual to identify goals, address underlying issues, and establish habits that promote lasting results rather than temporary relief. He enjoys helping clients recover from injury and strengthen their bodies to prevent future setbacks. With a particular interest in shoulder and lower limb sporting injuries from running and football, Mitchell’s approach is centred on education, movement quality, and developing lifelong strength and mobility.

Matt Jaeschke

Matthew is a Physiotherapist who enjoys helping people move better, reduce pain and return to the activities they value most. He has a strong interest in musculoskeletal and post-operative rehabilitation. He has experience working with elite sport, including three years as Head Sports Trainer with the Brisbane Lions AFLW program, where he developed a strong appreciation for long term rehab, return to play progressions, and the fast-paced nature of acute injury management. Outside of the clinic, Matthew enjoys travelling, playing guitar, and dabbling in all things fitness from lifting and cycling to CrossFit and running.

Tayah Brown

Exercise Physiologist

Tayah is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with a passion for sport and performance-based rehabilitation. With experience working in high-performance environments, including the Queensland Reds Rugby Union team, and a background in high-performance netball, her own injury experiences inspired her to pursue a career in rehabilitation and performance. She works with athletes and active individuals across return-to-play, pre- and post-operative, and field-based rehabilitation, helping bridge the gap between the clinic and competition. Tayah is equally passionate about helping everyday individuals regain confidence, function, and movement in a fun, positive, and supportive environment. She has experience coaching across rugby, netball, and touch football, with interests in musculoskeletal, sports, performance-based rehab, and women’s health, supporting females of all ages to move and perform at their best. Outside of the clinic, Tayah enjoys training at the gym, taking on new fitness challenges, and spending time at the beach.

Aidan Bender

Exercise Physiologist

Aidan is a senior Exercise Physiologist/Exercise Scientist and director at Motion Health Bulimba. Aidan uses exercise/movement interventions to reduce chronic pain, prevent injuries, and facilitate high performance (on field, on court, in your job or everyday life). Aidan works with elite athletes, modern-day athletes, those in pre- and post-operation stages, NDIS , WorkCover (workplace rehab) and various chronic diseases such as lower back pain, diabetes, and obesity. Aidan has years of experience in the health industry, helping countless people achieve their movement or pain reduction goals. Aidan also has a resume playing football (soccer) for the Brisbane Roar academy and various high level clubs around Brisbane. Anyone who has a movement goal or wants to live a happier, more fulfilling life, Aidan is ready to help!

Lauren Robinson

Exercise Physiologist

For Lauren, becoming a Clinical Exercise Physiologist was an obvious choice. After many years as an elite swimmer at both junior and senior levels, she experienced firsthand the profound impact exercise has on performance, recovery, and overall well-being. This personal insight inspired her career in exercise physiology, where she has since worked with a diverse range of clients, including those in Paralympic and disability sports, paediatrics, and individuals with complex musculoskeletal conditions. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Honours) from the University of Queensland. Her particular areas of interest include oncology care, neurological rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal health. She has also completed Clinical Reformer and Mat Pilates Level 1 training through The Pilates Institute of Queensland, and she often integrates Pilates into her treatment plans to enhance recovery and strength. With prior experience in personal training, group fitness, and sports coaching, Lauren adopts a client-focused approach in her practice. Her passion lies in guiding individuals through their unique physical and mental well-being journeys. She is committed to taking the time to connect with clients, listen to their concerns, and leverage her knowledge and experience to empower them to lead more active and healthy lifestyles. Outside of her clinical work, Lauren enjoys spending time at the gym or pilates studio, following her favourite AFL and Formula 1 teams, and indulging in some online shopping.

Chelsea is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with a passion for supporting women’s health, mental health, and performance across all stages of life. Alongside her clinical training, she draws on her lived experience with neurodivergence and chronic illness—allowing her to deliver care that is patient-centred, validating, and grounded in real-world understanding. Chelsea is committed to helping clients build sustainable habits and feel confident navigating food, health, and performance. As a national-level pole dancer and former strength and conditioning coach, Chelsea understands first-hand the demands placed on active women and athletes. She is passionate about helping clients fuel confidently, train well, and feel strong in their bodies, blending evidence-based practice with a deeply empathetic and inclusive approach.

Ellena Burnett

Ellena graduated with a Master of Dietetics Studies from the University of Queensland in 2017. Since then, she has built a rewarding career in private practice, working with clients to support a wide range of health goals. Her expertise includes managing chronic health conditions, guiding body composition changes, providing pre- and post-operative care, and addressing issues like female health, gut health, daily performance, corporate wellness, and sports performance. As an accredited Sports Dietitian, Ellena has had the privilege of working with athletes of all ages, from adolescents to masters athletes, across various sports. Her practice approach is centered around empowering clients, helping them take an active role in their care while working collaboratively to achieve their unique goals. Outside of work, Ellena enjoys spending time with her family, experimenting with new recipes and food products, and
getting outdoors with her young son.
